On my 10 day trip to Cape Verde I only had the chance to see two of the 10 islands belonging to this republic 500 km off the coast of Western Africa: Sal and Boa Vista. They are one of the most barren and dry places I have seen so far but one of the most fun, wild and interesting ones to explore. Don't expect many roads, most of them are dirt tracks, and the best way to get around and explore is to rent a 4x4. I hope you'll enjoy the series of photos below. The reason for my trip to Vancouver was a work conference and it was also my first trip to the west side of Canada. To be honest I cannot think of a better place to have a conference: the Convention Centre is located right by Vancouver Harbour where you could see the seaplanes landing or taking off with the beautiful mountains and forests in the background.
